How do we stay motivated about the food guidelines we set to ourselves with the
Ate a lot the night before?
I know what it feels like to wake up with an upset stomach! It ruins your mood for the day! Sometimes, the day before was not about a big portion indulgence but rather a late-night meal that I couldn’t digest. So, if this usually happens to you, how to start your second day to feel better?
- A longer digestive break
I slightly delay my breakfast to ensure I reach a 14 hours digestive break. Even if my stomach starts to growl, I do skip eating, I know my digestive system needs some extra time to eliminate anything left from the night before
- Optional start with vinegar
This is the most natural enzyme supplementation. You need enzymes to boost your digestion throughout the day. Simply, add 1 TBSP of unfiltered vinegar *with mother* into water, and drink it early morning. You can replace vinegar with lemon in warm water
- Add more of these 2 things
Water is crucial for better detoxification and bowel movement, because once you release, you will feel so much better! Also, add bitter or dark greens into your salad or smoothies like “spinach, parsley, arugula, kale, swiss chard”. They will balance out the effect of any heavy food’s residues and will make wonders to your digestive system!
Remember to release any guilt from the day before because your indulgence is not a lack of will, but rather a nice social & culinary memory you made, as long as the implications are not that bad!
